What Does "CSA" Mean?

CSA stands for "community supported agriculture." The CSA model brings community members together with farmers and local farmland in a mutually beneficial relationship that sustains local agriculture. As the global cut-flower industry relies heavily on air transport of flowers, and often on worker exploitation and harsh agrochemicals that have negative effects on communities, air, soil, and water supplies, supporting local, ethical, and organic flower production is one way to affect change towards a safer and more sustainable flower-farming model for all.

By purchasing a share of the harvest in advance, CSA members pay below retail market value and receive freshly harvested flowers weekly throughout the growing season. Farmers receive working capital at the beginning of the season when they need it most, and are ensured a steady market for their blooms, independent of seasonal fluctuations. Farmers and members both benefit from the opportunity to build direct relationships with each other and to form communities based on mutual aid.

Bucket Subscription CSA: For Businesses

Many Graces offers a Bucket Subscription for local businesses in the Western MA and Boston area. Instead of receiving one pre-arranged bouquet per week, businesses receive one large bucket of loose stems per week to display as needed. This is an especially popular choice for cafes and restaurants, where just a few flowers per table are needed, rather than one large bouquet. Each bucket consists of approximately 50 stems of flowers (approximately double the amount contained in a weekly share bouquet). You can sign-up for our spring and summer share here. For bulk orders of 3 or more buckets per week, please email us at manygracesfloral@gmail.com with “Bulk Bucket Share” in the subject line.
